A History of Colorful Characters
Airline people are usually interesting people. An airline is a microcosm of the world of work, touching nearly every area of human endeavor. No matter what a person is good at, there’s probably a job at an airline requiring their skills and/or knowledge. What people have come up with to make an airline work and survive as a business against the vagaries of weather, regulation, politics, human nature and forces of nature, and popular fashion and tastes, is nothing short of amazing. The groups represented on this site provide a case study on disparate groups finding enough common purpose to run an airline. Learn about the role of each group and appreciate just what it takes to pull off a “United” effort to fly the friendly skies.
